Slight Set Back

At 1 am this morning I was moved down 4 floors due to a slow heart rate. The nurse and doctor on the neuro floor were concerned this was due to my brain swelling. My doctor does not appear to be concerned and believes everything to be fine. Needless to say, my new room is smaller and doesn't have the great view my previous room had.

Today I am going through OT. I had my first short term memory test of the day and got 29/30 questions correct.

...I can't remember which one I got wrong :-)

Throughout the day I will have more OT life skills tests.

Will keep you posted!

Patrick,

Just joined in - so glad you are fine, room size notwithstanding! and also glad your humor didn't get buried..

Take care - recuperating can be a drag - check out the U-tube exercise videos, will make up for next few months.

Again, so glad it turned out well,

June (Noronha)

Ole (not sure how to get an accent mark on the 'e') to the successful surgery!! Been waiting to hear this good news; thanks for sharing. Slow heart rate, hmm...surely you can think of/look at something to fix that.

Perhaps you can take some recovery time to brush up on your Spanish :)

Thinking of you often,
Christy

Hey Patrick,

Jillian and I have been following your Blog, and we are so thankful about all the positive news.

We are looking forward to the Saturday campus event and I'm sure everyone will be thinking of you.

By the way, thanks for the pizza Thursday night at Goldy's Gameroom. Jillian decided to move to Ottawa before you got a chance to see the bill. I'm here alone now. Do you have Edwin's number?

Hang in there Patrick-I know it can get frustrating being in the hospital for so long. You will soon be home-keep your eye on the prize! In the meantime they better be taking good care of you over there!!!

HI Patrick--Sue Hancock and I went to United to see you (we even got dressed up). We were pleasantly surprised to find out you had checked out last night. We hope this means that you are now at home watching basketball etc--we were planning on watching with you (I wanted Davidson to win). So, don't rush getting back on your feet. take care, Carolyn Nayematsu

sounds like you're at home now, which is a VERY good thing. if you need some help with stuff around the house, just let me know. keep getting better and make a list of all the things you want to do once you get the green light from the docs. --michael duenes

Patrick...wow...I have to admit I like the bald look, and maybe a scar or two is kinda cool too...battle wounds. I say when live gets hard..I live to laugh, and laugh to live. What would we do without humor? Seriously, there are many people pulling for you here and we missed you on Saturday (since I can't see very well I thought the guy up there was you, so what's my excuse for bad eyes?) Okay...get better and get home and get back to work! P.S. is your hospital room bigger than your work off? TTFN.
